Whats the plan for next series?

Do some various fun runs up to 2020, then another series?

GT3/GTE seem like good fits for most, but I am up for anything.

We'll do another GTE series starting in January. The racing is just starting to get really good now that everyone is getting used to them. We'll pick tracks from the Iracing IMSA series as best we can.

As for the holiday break were were kicking around the free Lucas oil truck on one of the rallyX courses or a short dirt track. There was also mention of the Ring. But we're open to suggestions.

My vote is for the Ring, I've never been a fan of dirt

Could always do Super Late Model at the ring again. That was fun!

The GTE cars appear to be enjoyed by all (except maybe Scott), so we'll put something together with them starting in Jan. Tuesday still working for most?

Next week we thought we'd try something a bit different so we'll go for Aussie Supercars (2 of which are free "archived" cars) along with the Caddy CTSV at Nurburgring. Since it's the ring we'll do a open practice followed by random starting grid at the usual 8:30 atl race start time then 20 minute race and a 30 minute race. We'll try to adjust the fuel consumption so the higher hp Aussie cars have to stop for fuel (I don't own the latest one so that will be a guess unless somebody can do a test for me).

Congrats on winning the recent GTE series, Ken.

The GTE cars are pretty enjoyable, but I'm flexible. Tuesdays work great for me.

Don't let Scott's opinion sway you guys. He hates anything with a roof.

Hi Justin. Once logged into iracing go to Leagues, then at the top of the League Directory tab search for Regulars. If that doesn't work then try: https://members.iracing.com/membersite/ ... league=177 Once the Regulars league appears you should be able to click on Join or Apply to this League. (I'm assuming you are using the web interface, not sure how this works in the beta UI)

Or let me know what your user name is (there are 6 Justin Wilsons listed) and I can send you an invitation to join.

Practice for race 1 starts at 8:00, Qual at 8:30 and then green flag around 8:40. Once leave race 1 you should be able to join race 2 just a few minutes before qualifying starts. Usually wrapped up by 10. Once you have joined the league the race dates/times will show up in League Sessions tab.

You'll need at least one of the GTE cars (BMW seems easier to manage, the Ferrari a nice balance, the Porsche is lively, and the Ford a bit of an underdog). Of course you will also need to have the track for that week.

We just use the iracing in game voice and text chat.

Let us know if you have any more questions.

Good Fun last night guys! I haven't raced in over a year, my Rig and I are a little rusty... So I apologize for my Mic and both starts last night! First Start my clutch disappeared, so I just rolled off and it seemed to work out ok. The Second Start I dropped the clutch, edging slightly forward trying to get it to work just about when it was going green. I didn't get a flag, thought I was ok... As soon as I rolled off, I got the flag. It Caught my attention and stupidly I rolled off throttle to read it and I'm sure I stacked some of you guys up. It caught me off guard.... brain misfire, once everyone started to go around me I just decided to go to the back since I had to pit for a hold. Of course I forgot to unclick new tires and fuel, so with that and the hold I was a lap down.

Don't think I had the speed in the second race even if I did get a good start to keep up with Art and Ken. Track felt different, car was loose, I should have made a few adjustments! Anyways, nice pace guys and Congrats on the podiums.

Do you guys always race Noon and Afternoon? I've never seen track temps that high before. Maybe there's been a change in iRacing I don't know about, track temp ranges I have seen are between about 85 to 112. It was 122 and 123 last night. I heard some people talking about grip, 110 degree plus track doesn't have much of it, unless like I say it's changed.

Hope to get to race with you guys more this season.

Good to have you out Andy, hope you can join in again. Nice to see Justin find us too.

Servers should all be set to afternoon and default weather for all races (the results for last night show the same weather/time: 78°F, Wind N @ 2 MPH,
Atmosphere: 55 RH, Skies: Partly Cloudy, Fixed Skies, Time Of Day: 2019-05-15 13:38). It auto-generates the starting track condition (rubber and marbles) for practice for both races (20%) and then carries over the conditions to qualifying and the race. Only thing that might make a difference is that there are a few cars circulating for the 30 minute practice session for race 1, with race 2 we join just before qualifying and most don't run practice laps, so there could be less rubber down and possibly less heat in the track. I switched setups between race 1 and 2 so can't really say if it felt different between the races last night.

Should post results on here like before, or somewhere.
I couldn't join last night but will for most of the remaining races.

Yeah I get that part, that it is default weather and and you have it set to automatically set the starting track state. It’s the time of day that is giving you a track temperature of 120 degrees plus. If you change it to morning or late afternoon, you’ll get a much cooler track to race on. Noon and Afternoon set at default will give you a track that’s more than 120 degrees every time.

Ah, thought the change in track conditions between R1 and R2 that was at issue. We can change the start times (or lower the track temp 20F) if that helps, don't think anyone will object to having more grip.

I wasn't sure if you could do it, been a while since I hosted and it's changed since then. If you can change the starting time of day the same as you change it in testing, from Sunrise to Morning, Noon, Afternoon, Late Afternoon, Sunset and Night then all you have to do to get a track temp of 85 instead of 122, 123 like last night is to change your sessions to Morning or Late afternoon. I will double check that for you, I looked into it when I seen how hot the track was for your session. Now if you want to go somewhere in between I can run some scenarios if you have a temperature you'd like.

EDIT;
Ran a few tests to confirm.
Default Weather, Self Generating Track State same as you have it all.

Seems some track temps fluctuate a degree or so.

Silverstone
Morning 85 Degree Track
Noon 121
Afternoon 122-123
Late Afternoon 82

Spa
Morning 83 Degree Track
Late Afternoon 81

Watkins Glen 82 and 84....Seems from track to track there will be slight temp changes. So yeah it seems if you are ok with setting it to Morning, track states will be 83-85 Degrees. That seems like the easiest the way they have it set now, if say you wanted to get a track temp of 90, we'd have to put it to either noon or afternoon, lower the temp, change the skies to mostly cloudy and then you end up with no sun and a darkish feel. This new way of setting the time of day is a good idea, easier. Could also just raise the ambient temp up from 78 with a morning track and get to 90.

VIR was fun, tricky, but fun.
Making the fewest mistakes was key, the BMW was quick but hard to keep on the limit, especially in braking.
