Hello all,

Welcome to the first ARMS series for Gran Turismo 6, the Red Bull XJ Challenge. This will be a spec series running the Red Bull X2014 Junior race car.
No modifications or tuning allow (other than an oil change).

Image

The Red Bull X2014 Junior can be purchased from the Dealership for $200,000 or won by completing the "Red Bull X2014 Junior Championship".

------SPECIAL NOTE---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please note that the International B License is required to play GT6 Online.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The night should take around 90mins to complete. We will visit 3 tracks every night, and run two races per track. Each track visit consists of two races that last around 12 minutes. At the beginning of each track, a 10min qualifying session determines the order of the starting grid. The first race is set to 'Fastest First' to reward the best qualifiers and the second race is set to 'Reverse Grid' in order to promote on-track action. Points are awarded based on finishing position for both races. After both races on the track are completed, we move on to the next track and repeat the same process.

I'll be running a WHITE Red Bull Junior car.

With tuning prohibited for this series I will run a few test laps over the next few days to ensure that we aren't hitting the rev limited too bad on some of the tracks (Monza, Suzuka, etc)

I'll also get aprox lap times, workout and post the # of laps for each track into the original post.

The disk drive isn't reading the disk. I tried cleaning the blu-ray lens and had, it didn't work. It notices there's a cd inside it, there'S the little loading thingy in the top right corner of the screen. But that is all I get.

I heard you can buy new lasers pretty cheap on eBay.
Or pickup a used PS3 from Kijiji

I had this happen to mine. I took it to KonsoleKing in Hammonds Plains to replace the laser. It was only about $20-30 more than doing it myself.

Results from night 1:

Jason - 58pts
Alek - 44pts
Varga - 41pts
Scott - 21pts

On the last lap of the first Silverstone race, I spun going onto the Hanger Straight, and Alek was close enough to take advantage of it and nab the win. I was ~4 seconds in the lead at that point, but was pushing for faster laps.

I was gifted the lead in both Nürburgring races (I think they both spun out at Bit/T12), and once I had a comfortable lead I turned down the wick and coasted home.

Spa is always a treat, sadly Scott had to leave early. Alek, Varga and I traded fastest lap times for both races in Belgium.

Snail has the advantage of playing with a number of people with very close lap times, but it's so nice to be going to bed at a reasonable hour.

I had lots of fun tonight, too bad some of the old crew didn't join us. Hopefully we'll pickup a few more for next week.

It was fun to be racing again. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get much seat time since the game came out, I've been away sailing. That being said I can't make it tonight either. I should be good for the rest of them, and hopefully I can get some practice in.

I'll be online shortly before 8 to open the room.

Scott... make sure Gary adds me to his Friends List (and I accept) before he fires up GT6 tonight

My G27 isn't working right, keeps double up shifting every 10 - 20 shifts.... really annoying.
Did a quick search online and found other users who have had the same issue, seems to be a hardware problem. :(
Since I only bought it in Dec, I'm going to contact Logitech. According to their website it has a 3yr warranty.

Well, I noticed from the get-go that the G27 paddle shifter has been built with noticeably tighter tolerance than the the DFGT that I was using. I had to adjust to the increased sensitivity after switching to the G27. I double shift easily when I have too much coffee!....and not so much when I was taking the pain killers.......

I am going on no meds for a about a month now!! It seems that after the recent physical setback and recuperation I am feeling a lot better. Well, I am back to doing dips and other compound weight training without pain, other than typical soreness....Whoohooo!!!
At 190 lbs of lean mean driving machine, the dips would have put me out, or at least in the past I would have to take a day off with meds....

However, work has been busy and I will be away from home travelling to Edmonton and Calgary for the next two weekends....

Hope your G27 and you receive good customer service Jason!
