Sounds great Rejean. I don't think I've tried the L79 since it got the NTMv5. Although I did run the car for a couple seasons of the Classic Teams Championship, and it was great fun. I imagine it's even better now.

Can a handicap ballast be added in the new series to help give backmarkers a chance?

Weight ballast / fuel limits can be applied to cars, but not individuals. So the answer is no. Maybe send the faster drivers a pint of rum each race night?

Tough sell during the summer, especially when most of us spend our weekends at the track anyway. Good luck, I'll make it if I am town and haven't already turned laps that day.
Pardon me, Rejean. I had posted a question about dates but quickly answered it myself. Then I wanted to remove the post but could only edit, hence the '...never mind'.
Does anyone else get a kick out of L49? Is it the most challenging car at iRacing? Later... RJ

I put people in the Lotus 49 that think iRacing is some sort of game ...Gives you new respect for Graham Hill and Jim Clark doesn't it?
I say we handicap the faster guys with Lotus 49's against the Lotus 79's as an amendment to my previous post

Sorry I wasn't able to attend, Rejean. I was entertaining my mother with food, wine and song. Did you have a good turn out? How about a race report? Later...
Only Rejean & I showed up. We spent the practice looping the L79. Quite a handful, especially on a low-grip track like Okayama. I accumulated 100 incidents during practice. lol
But by race time, we had got the hang of the car and ran the whole race without either of us crashing or having any major spins. In the 21 laps, Rejean only had one incident point and only two for myself. We ran the whole race within a few seconds of one another and had a good dice in final laps with me finishing 0.340 seconds behind Rejean. It was surprisingly fun for a 2-car race.
That is a disappointing turn out, Scott, but it sounds like you two made the best of it. I doubt that I would have stuck around with that low number of attendance.
I noticed that the practice session was two hours long (!) and given that I have an 0500 duty call on Monday mornings, I don't think I will ever actually race in this series but I will attempt to show up for practice.
Unfortunate indeed. It was going to be a hard sell this time of the year. Especially when we only get a half dozen racers during winter when people have more free time.
Thanks for the effort anyway Rejean.
