I'm throwing this out there to gauge interest....

As most of us are actively involved in ARMS sanctioned motorsports events during the summer season, I had planned to put the ARMS iRacing League on hiatus from April through October, and start is back up again in November. In iRacing terms, we'd run Season 01, skip 02-03, and run Season 04.

But it might be fun to have the odd event in between.

With the recently released Autódromo José Carlos Pace (Interlagos) and soon to be released Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, iRacing has about 5 of the tracks on the 2013 Formula One calendar. Perhaps we could have our own mini F1 series with iRacing's Williams-Toyota FW31.

They would be full-length races with equal number of laps as the real race, held on the Friday evening prior to Sunday's F1 race. For example:

    ARMS Petit F1 Schedule

    Round (Date)
    Grand Prix
    Circuit
    Laps
Race 07 (2013-06-07)Canadian GPCircuit Gilles Villeneuve (if available)70
    Race 08 (2013-06-28)British GPSilverstone Circuit52
    Race 11 (2013-08-23)Belgian GPCircuit de Spa-Francorchamps44
    Race 15 (2013-10-11)Japanese GPSuzuka Circuit53
Race 19 (2013-11-22)Brazilian GPAutódromo José Carlos Pace (Interlagos)71

Would this interest anyone... :?:

That is a very good reason for me to put the Williams in my cart, Scott.
I would be interested in such a series with one stipulation. Could we keep the race times below 2 hours? I have some difficulty with concentration and a sore tail bone after about 1.5 hours.
Might be an idea to make it a multiclass series with the Williams, the Dallara and the Lotus 79. I would think that most of us already have at least one of those cars so no purchase would be necessary. Of course that would water down the bragging rights if the cars were scored seperately, or you could score them together with weight penalties to even out the power to weight ratio's.

So many possibilities...

Since I will probably never see an A license, let alone a WC one, I'm down, though the Friday night may not work so well, especially with the long race format.
