Welcome to the second week of the AFRA F2000 Series!

The Atlantic Formula Racing Association (AFRA) has generously offered to award a prize to the overall series champion. The prize will take the form of a FREE AFRA Lapping Day or 50% off Lapping School (in 2013) at Atlantic Motorsport Park, providing the winner meets the requirements to enter such an event.

This week the series visits Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Two 30-minute races will be held this Friday evening, February 22. Here's is the time schedule:

Well, that was a dismal failure. I was the only one who started both races. The only one.

It's quite evident that the democratic approach to car selection does not work, so going forward we'll take a dictatorial approach.

I would like to keep the AFRA prize for this series, so we'll keep it an open wheel car. But I am going to change it from the Skippy to what I consider the easiest and most forgiving formula car in the service... the Star Mazda.

Hopefully this will draw you guys back to the series.

We will start the points championship from zero again, so everyone has equal opportunity. And I will extend the series into Week 13 so we get at least 5 nights.

Updates to follow...

Well I was going to offer to drive your car for you last night since you weren't feeling well, but I didn't want to mess up your status. Or improve it. :P I was in Sackville last night too. I guess if no one else showed up I could have done ok, maybe.

Not about the car for me, I liked the skippy. Just work getting the way. I find once I learn a track the car doesn't matter so much to me. But maybe thats just me. Spa is a fun track , I am just not that fast there. It is a frame rate pig for me as well so I don't practice much there. I have to lower setting to keep it over 50FPS and that kind of sucks because its so pretty with the detail turned up. I am going to try and make it next week.

Same here, wasn't the car, was traveling. Maybe the dictator should change the night as well?

Sorry about the poor turnout, Scott.
For me it was the car. I don't own the Skippy and I wasn't going to purchase it just for this series. I am still kicking myself for buying the Jetta just so I could drive the multiclass race that was held some time ago. I still haven't driven it and probably never will.

You WILL see Ed and I in the tartan SM's next month with you guys (and girls?).

Can some one please tell me when we will see the Lotus 49? I am waiting so I can bundle it with the HPD and three road courses.

Later...

Based on the latest Dev blogs, they are committing to releasing the Lotus 49 in 2013 S2. Then again, they've said that for the last two seasons as well..
