I love this track/car combination ...I can't break a 1:01 (even with some secret expert coaching) but I do love this track

Expert coaching! Are you taking the Alien8RS race school, of something similar?

Looking at the stats, I've run a 59.9, Gay a 59.8, Paul a 59.6, and Weatherbee a 59.2.

Been a while since running the MX-5 here though (or anywhere for that matter). I'm sure to be rusty.

Ironically, this is the only track/car that I actually tried on iracing. It is addictive. 1:01's yeah I can't say I remember my times, but I can say that I wish my time was that low. I still had fun though.

Like anything, it takes time & practice. Most of us started out our iRacing career running the MX-5 here at LRP, racking up 100's (if not 1000's) of laps.

Brian, you welcome to drop by anytime and run some laps if you'd like to try it again.

I had a local Jedi master help me 8)

Wow, Alien8RS is sure getting crapped all over for trying to help... sheesh

In that thread I found this tutorial though:

BTW this guy doesn't brake going through T5 ...I can certainly see that being worth 2 seconds, but I don't think even my local Yoda can do that?

Come on out Friday night Brian, we won't tell the GT5 camp

On the topic of braking (or not) at Lime Rock in the MX-5, here's a good (and entertaining) read:

Article wrote:
iRacers… when driving Lime Rock in the Mazda MX-5… you only need to use the brake… twice. Yes! Twice!

Not going to make this week either. :( Should be a great car/track combo, especially with the draft being what it is now.

So inquiring minds want to know... Who won?

Per my conversation with Scott I was so disappointed that I couldn't make this race ...but due to upcoming weather I made a quick decision to fly to Virgina to pick up a car.
(not that it mattered me leaving Friday as we missed our connector flight in Toronto due to a holdup at customs and couldn't get the car until Saturday anyway ...uh, yes I have more than $10K on me per the form I filled out as I'm going to buy a car. Oh, now we get to go to the special room do we, sweet!)

Thanks
Stacy

Here's the results from race #1 & #2. There are no results for #3 for some reason...

Here's the Points Standings after our 2nd night of the series:

Unfortunately, I couldn't make it. I've been flat on my back since last Friday with a back injury. Today is the first time I've tried sitting at the computer, and even still I can only handle short periods of sitting upright. Hopefully I'll have recovered enough by Friday to join the F2000 races.
