ARMS iRacing League: Week 13 - MX-5 & F2000 Enduro @ Summit Point ![]() To tide us over until the new season starts, I will be hosting a Week 13 Enduro Race using the cars from our upcoming series': The Mazda MX-5 and Skip Barber Formula 2000. There will be a 50 minute practice preceding the 8:30pm qualifying, followed by a 1 hour race. You will find it within the Leagues section under League Sessions, much like our regular series. You may choose whichever car you wish. The F2000 is generally 3 seconds per lap faster than the MX-5, however a 2-lap penalty will be applied to the F2000 drivers post-race to level the playing field. ![]() ![]() Here a 1:20.533 hot lap in the F2000: And another 1.22.968 hot lap in the MX-5: Hope to see you Friday night! |

BTW if you don't own the skippy you can still race. They've changed the requirement for owning all cars for hosted sessions... - You no longer need to own all of the cars in a hosted multi-car session to participate. You now only need to own the Track where the event is being held and one of the Cars in the session. You will only be able to drive in a car that you own and you still must meet all of the other criteria of the session. You will need to download the cars you do not own. This update applies to Hosted, League and Tournament sessions PS they've also changed the tire model, steering model, drivetrain flex, drafting, etc so the car might feel a little different next time you jump in it. |

Here's the results of our Week 13 Enduro: Naturally, the Skippys all qualified in the front (except for Paul who disappeared Ken was on fire and began pulling a gap from the rest of the field, setting the fastest lap of the night on lap 2. After regaining 3rd position, I was slowly reeling John in only to loose everything I gained with a self-inflicted spin or off. Then the cycle would start again. John ran the whole race without any major driving errors and build a 10 second gap by the closing stages of the race. However, he had made a fuel miscalculation which required a stop and allowed me to take his position. While Ken has a commanding lead in the early part of the race, he had to leave early which put John and I up in the top two spots. But after applying the post-race 2 lap penalty to the faster F2000 cars, it effectively put John & I back in 4th & 5th overall, as we had not even lapped the MX-5 leader once. So in the end, Brian Weatherbee, Ed Filek, and Rick James took the podium in their Miatas. Congrats guys! I have to say, the F2000 was not my first choice for this upcoming season, but after running it Friday, I think it'll be pretty fun series! |
