It was a night of Brians as the two who share first names also shared race victories!

After deductions were applied for incidents, here's what the series Points Standings look like:

For the most part, everything remained status quo in the championship standings. However, there are some changes coming for the final 4 weeks of the championship which could spice things up!

More details to follow in the upcoming Week 9 Mosport thread... :mwink:

Lots of fun last night. Two pretty good races for me. I had good pace first race and started on pole but I am not sure if pole at this track is where you want to be , on the out side for turn one. Brian Gay got a great start and beat me into corner one and that is how we stayed all race . I could gain on him a little , only to throw it way with little mistakes. So all I could do was to wait for him to make one , witch never happened, he was rock steady. Second race I started third behind Brian and Scott. Brian spun on lap one witch left me and Scott. I just edged by him when he got just a little sideways coming off a corner. We settled into a very good battle with him about 1 second back for most of the race. I would gain a little on half of the track and he would get it back on the other half , lap after lap. It was very hard to keep up the pace , very easy to spin out, and the tires were shot. Like driving on grease. With just a couple of laps to go Scott slid off to giving me the win. Lots of fun hard racing for me. Both the rabbit and the hound. Getting harder and harder each week to run up front. Funny how each week with different tracks that Brian seems to always have a great first race and Scott the second race. With serveral drivers with very fast pace, only small mistakes and luck determining out comes now.

I think I do better in the 2nd races because it takes me a while to get a feel for a particular car/track combination and to find the right groove. I need lots of laps to be able to run consistently fast, whereas someone like Brian who has more natural ability can get up-to-speed quicker with less seat time.

My first race of the night was plagued with bad luck. Weatherbee got sideways going through T8 on lap 1 and I spun in the grass avoiding him, dropping to the back of the field. Then on lap 5, Paul spun in front of me in T8 and I hit him, requiring a trip to the pits. From that point on it was just Stacy and I lapping around at the back of the field.

In the secod race I inherited the lead briefly when Gay spun in T1 lap 1, but I lost it to Weatherbee when I messed up a corner later in the lap. Gay got past me on lap 2 and held a small gap for the next 6 laps until he went off the track and I regained 2nd. Then I caught up to Weatherbee and we were both battling on the ragged edge, until I had moment of distraction and I slipped off the track at T2 and hit the wall. With about a 35 second gap behind me, I was lucky enough to limp around the track and dive into the pits for a fast repair, coming out 3 seconds ahead of Paul in 3rd, and held onto 2nd for the checkered flag.

Currently the Paul and I are only 2 points apart in the championship with Brian Gay closing it. The next four weeks should be interesting!
