I have to admit that this will be a completely new one for me. I have never raced at Summit Point except on the Jefferson Reverse configuration with the Spec Ford (that was awful). I've never seen the track itself, so this should be a pretty fun time! |

Ran a couple dozen laps tonight. Got down to a 1:09.5xx. Always feels like I'm losing time through the slow T5-T9 section. This will be a tricky track to pass on, I suspect. Basically have to wait until the guy in front makes a mistake. Good qualifying will be key, then running 30 minutes mistake free. |

You Guys are just fast, Brian had a great run the first race. I just could not catch him, I would get close only to make a small mistake, and lose everything I could gain . Great job. Second race I was out Qually and flat out run. I had nothing for Scott who seemed to be on rails. . I wasn't at my best tonight ,a little off , but it wouldn't have mattered I have run with some of the fastest guys in Iracing here Although in the Mazada I know my way around here. And I did OK. Just not enough anymore with this crowd I guess. Looks I have to step it up a little. If I can. Good to know to you still suck Paul. Congrats to Brian and Scott and everyone that finished . Tough track and Car. Great race and tons of fun. |

The new track spiced things up and led to some unexpected winners... After deductions were applied for incidents, here's what the series Points Standings look like: ![]() With Paul's poor finishes he dropped down to 3rd in the standings. Newcomer Ed climbed up another spot to 5th and Richard jumped from 10th to 8th! This Friday we find ourselves at Okayama, another new track to the series. |

My race report. Race 1: Thought I had pole during qualifying, but then Paul pulled off a flyer on his last qualifying lap, demoting me to P2. Got a good start and hung onto Paul throughout the first lap. I got better run out of the last corner of lap1 and slipped up the inside of Paul in T1 lap2 to take the lead. On lap3, Paul & I tried to take T3 two-wide, I got a bit loose after dropping a wheel in the sand, tapped Paul which put him in a slow spin and we both ended up needing a tow to the pits. Paul and I exited the pits 8th & 9th respectively with a few seconds gap between us. I forgot to uncheck the “windshield tear off” so I was delayed getting out on the track. We both held those positions until lap6 when Paul spun coming out of T1. I took avoiding action to the left but that’s where Paul’s car ended up going and we made contact again. Race 2: By this point I had found my groove and was able to run fast consistent laps. Started P1 and ran low 1:10’s the whole race without any significant mistakes. Had a bit of a shock at one point when Gay went off on T5, rolled across the infield and then slid across the track in front of me (on his roof) just before T9. It was quite the sight! Throughout the race I was pulling away from Weatherbee (in 2nd) about 0.5 seconds per lap, but then had to back off the last few laps to conserve fuel. Finished in 1st. Woo hoo! |
