Post subject:  GT2 World Series - Rd 3 (broadcasted race w. local team)
Round 3 of the GT2 World Series runs today from 1pm-7pm local time!

Today, our little Atlantic Canadian team will be running the tight, twisty and super technical Fern Bay Black circuit. This will be a 6-hour endurance race, with driver swaps (between 2-4 total drivers).

Driving duties will be shared between:
- Jared Meade (kart racer from Quispamsis and ARMS member)
- Jonathan Bjornson (local online racer from Halifax)
- Zoltan Gacsi (online racer from Hungary)

We managed to pre-qualify comfortably (~25th I believe, with 30 cars making the cut, 32 total cars). After proper Qualifying, we start the race in 27th.

With a little less than 2 and a half hours to go, our strategy is paying off!

Drama to end the race! :mrgreen:

With 15 minutes to go, Kiosoglou Nestoras of Hellenic Racing Team rolled their car, causing a Safety Car. By the time the race restarted, the green and white flags were given.... so a 1-lap shootout to the finish!

Halfway through the lap, a few cars bunched up and collided on the "bridge section" (no runoff, just barriers) and piled into one another. With Zoltan at the wheel, we started the lap 17th, and shot through the clump of cars in 15th place!

15th is now our new best ever finish in the GT2 World Series!

We admittedly did not have much practice before the race, we had the slowest Best Lap of all the finishing teams, we ran super-long-distance runs to leapfrog teams, we kept our nose clean...... and got our best ever finish out of it! Overall a great race!

Now, it is off to the fast and flowing Westhill International Circuit on August 4th!
