Anyone planning to run the 120 Minutes of Sebring this Sunday, March 18th? There's a race at 5am and another at 1pm.

I have the track, but none of the three cars (HPD ARX01c,Corvette C6.R, Ford GT). From what I've read, the HPD is easier to drive, so that's probably the one I'd purchase to participate.

On a semi-related note, I saw on the Development News section of the latest iRacingTV episode, that they're planning to implement a "team" function within the service that would ultimately allow for (remote) driver swaps during endurance races. Don't be surprised if we see true 12hr / 24hr events in the near future. Pretty cool!

I won't be sober by 5am and I probably won't be awake by 1pm..... 8)

I thought about it, I have the C6-R already and I know the Sebring track pretty well from running the DP there at night.
One thing for sure, the Vette is way faster then the DP and you need to be smooth.

I hadn't done any races at Sebring prior to this weekend, and had never driven the HPD ARX01c before, but with a bit of practice I was starting to get the hang of it by the time the big event rolled around yesterday.

I qualified 9/38 and had worked my way up to 3rd by the first round of pit stops. Was doing really well and making no mistakes... Maybe one dropped wheel in 45 minutes of racing. Then while navigating through back-markers, a Scandinavian dude made an overly aggressive attempt to pass and pushed me out into the wall. That was it for me. The car was unrepairable. :(

After calling him out in text chat, the dude felt so bad that he voluntarily retired from the race; then sent me multiple PM's apologizing and even offered to credit me money for the cost of the car & track. I didn't take him up on it, but appreciated the sentiment.

Anyway, that was my experience. It was pretty fun up to that point. Looking forward to trying another endurance road race in the future.
