Lap times at Lime Rock are signifigantly shorter lap than Okayama Right now I have it set to 30 laps. With 20mins practice and 25mins qualifying we can do up to 70 laps for the race. I think we should increase it to 40 or 50 laps. Thoughts? |

How long was the race last night? 50-55 minutes? We could easily run a 50 lap race at Lime Rock and come in under that time. By my calculations using my average lap time, we could do over 53 laps in 55 minutes. |

I'd be game for 50.... I mean it'd still be shorter (time wise) than the race we ran last night. |

I'm fine with a longer race at Lime Rock, it gives me more time to catch up after I screw up! The only bad part about the longer races is when people crash in corner 1 on the first lap, it pretty much kills your whole race from everyone having fun together with some close racing. |

Turn 1 at Lime Rock is bad for that too. But it's pretty much inevitable that part of the field is gonna crash at some point in a 50 lap race, especially when we have such a wide spread in skill & experience. Still fun though! |

No option for two shorter races eh? |

Two shorter races is NOT an option with iRacing hosting. BUT, if you were to double your cost, meaning pay $2 instead of $1 dollar you could set up 2x 2hour sessions. We could have a shorter race in the first session and then everyone exit out, move onto the other session and start another short race. Basically still use the 2 hour time from 9pm-11pm, but pay for 2 separate 2 hour sessions. Make sence? |

Anyone turn any practice laps yet? If so what were your times? I'm thinking about going online tonight for some practice runs. |

I might have some time to hop on tonight. It'll be the first laps I've turned since I was ghosting the last race. |

I'm online right now practicing. If anyone wants to join me I don't mind spending $1 to host a practice session for an hour. Let me know. |

Ok after about a dozen laps, my best is a 1:02.072 I know I'm losing a lot of time in turn 1... probably close to a second, maybe more. I'm not flat out for the highspeed turns, but close (final 3 turns). Not sure if any can be taken flat out or not, but I either lift a little or just keep my foot flat and dab the brake. I can run 1:03s comfortably..... but the big challenge with this track is how to crash to minimize damage/time.... hehe |

Yeah, I can't run 1:00's consistently. I average mid-1:01's. Corner 1 (Big Bend) is where I lost a lot of time initially. It's tough. The last corner (Diving Turn) is also tough to nail. You don't have to brake, but you do have to lift to get the nose tucked into the apex. Really, the only corners you can run flat-out are the Esses, and cresting The Uphill (if you get your car lined up straight). ![]() |

Jeff, I'm pretty sure the only way anyone can watch is to be a member of iRacing and you must own the cars/tracks of the race you want to watch. Kind of sucks but short of going to someones house and watching over their shoulder I don't think there is any way. |

Brian's right... there's no way to watch from your home computer unless you are an iRacing member and own the tracks/cars in use. Now that said Brian Partridge is going to watch from my place tonight. Show starts at 9. PS-This is my 3999th post |

Get signed up Jeff and come out and play, either you or your son! I have a 7 or 8 year old Dell gaming computer, runs iRacing fine with alot of the detail turned to low plus turning off a bunch of stuff like Vertical Shaders, V-Sync, shadow passes... there is a link somewhere Scott M posted to the iRacing fourm which gives advice on settings depending on which video card you have. |

http://members.iracing.com/membersite/m ... stid=80818 ![]() Congrats to Brian W! He started from poll and immediately built a sizable gap. Paul & Brian G were nose-to-tail battling for 2nd place for the first few laps with me trailing close behind. Then Brain G spun on Big Bend and I inherited 3rd place. With the pressure off Paul, he began to pull away from me. And after several laps, Brian G's ultimate pace allowed him to reel me back in and retake 3rd. Not sure what happened outside the top four. I meant to save the replay to capture some pics & video, but forgot. I'm kinda disappointed that iRacing doesn't calculate points towards the tournament championship. I guess if we want to have an ongoing championship, well have to do the points tally ourselves. |

I found a setting that asks me if I want to save a session when I exit out. Not that I know how to get still pictures or export video http://www.triplertele.com/nbscc/iracingcrash.MOV Sorry, I can't figure out how to embed Quicktime either... maybe a moderator could fix? During qualifying I got into a real tank slapper At least I didn't end up in a tree like Brian G. earlier Stacy PS thanks Scott for letting me "ghost" you from inside your car after the race last night, it was a good learning tool. Now if I could just find a brake pedal that doesn't go from no brake force to lockup in .01" I'd be all set. |
