Who's interested? I know I am and Paul. M; anyone else? The specs you need aren't that high. The new 2.0 version is really impressive visually, the physics are well debated and accurate, in general, it's well done. There is a 3/1 month deal on right now. It obviously isn't free.. If there are a few people interested I am willing to sponsor a few races to get it going. I also am consistent but terrible, so you have someone to beat. http://iracing.com/ |

My PC is 1.8 GHz, 768 Mb of RAM (old)...it is 10 yrs old and is solely a backup internet junky to my wifes Macbook pro. What I am interested in Iracing is only to see if I am competitive in that environment. I would like to give it a try on someones setup before I would even consider spending the money for this. Lord knows (to the 1%) I owe enough...... |

I might be swayed if it gets some traction amongst our group. My machine is a bit dated (Intel Duo Core 2.66 GHz / 3.25GB RAM / GeForce 9600 GT 512MB), but should suffice. |

I'm interested as well, but my computer is up in my office and... A) My racing seat will not fit in my office B) I don't have money for a new PC for downstairs Here's the system requirements for those who are interested: -Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 -Hyperthreaded Intel CPU, AMD Athlon 64 CPU, or any dual-core CPU -128MB Pixel Shader 2.0 (ATI 9700Pro or nVidia 6600 or better); 256 MB Pixel Shader 3.0 (ATI X1600 or nVidia 6800 GT/GS or better) graphics adapter recommended The OS and video card are easy.... the hyperthreading/dual-core CPU pretty much eliminates any computer +5yrs old The PS3 is more or less just a computer, (From what I hear, with greater specs than iRacing needs) Too bad iRacing doesn't make a PS3 port of the game. I understand that connecting it to their existing PC servers maybe difficult(impossible), not from a technical aspect, but from a legal aspect (because of the PSN). </rant> |

I'm pretty certain just about any wheel will work, and the last time I checked the minimum specs you don't need much of machine. The appeal is the physics and driving experience are very accurate. http://www.iracing.com/membership/system-requirements/ I use a G27 currently. No dedicated chair or setup yet, just at my desk. If I get into it more and finances allow I can see spending some money on a chair though. |

I was watching an episode of ISR where they interviewed the top racers from some iRacing world championship event, and was surprised to learn that most of the top guys run unmolested G27's clamped to their computer desk. Maybe only 10-20% of them actually use a race rig of some sort. |

You don't need a machine that crazy, I use a 2 year old laptop, with a single screen. A lot of guys use multiple monitors, have the graphics cranked, then you do need a crazy PC, but it plays fine on a mild PC, with some stuff turned off. My setup is: 2 year old acer laptop, 4gb ram, 1.8 cpu, stock graphics card included in laptop. 21" lcd. G25 wheel on a desk and a standard office chair on wheels. Not ideal, but it works for me, I do the GT5 stuff with the same setup. It works fine. |

Yes, $12.99/3 mo. The races are a few bucks each. I'll pick up the tab for a few. For scheduling I am thinking either Sunday or Monday night? |

...ok, I admit it...I run the "full meal deal" when it comes to wheel (G27) seat (playseat) and multi screens but thats just to get me into the mood for racing, cause you can see plainly that it ain't getting me to the top of the heap. More racing of any sort is good for me...every-night-of-the-week...is OK! Just let me know whats happening and when and I'll be a "back marker" in anyones game. |

To do that Scott I would need to move to a much larger apartment and win a small lotto prize. Just the computer has multiple screens...for now! |

Ok, I finally bit the bullet and joined iRacing. I've found Jay Barthelotte, Paul Machan, Corey Smith, and Shawn Gayton on there; but cannot find Steve Manley, Jonathan L-S, or Kevin Doubleday. |

...I was on my way to join the show when I must have taken a wrong turn at "Albuquerque"... Hmmm...now which way do I go from here ?? Iracing cars are not as "good looking" as GT 5...drives me crazy !! |

I've signed up, but I tested the computer I build (with spare parts) on it last night.... I don't think it's going to work well. We will see.... |

I finally broke down and bought a used logitech wheel and have joined iRacing! This is nothing like GT5 at all, way more realistic. I feel like I'm learning to race all over again. |

I'm registered for the year as well, messed around a bit with my old Logitech Momo wheel.. tough! Fun though, and I agree it has a good sense of realism (though driving real cars is nowhere near this hard!) Waiting for my Fanatec wheel/pedal set.. according to the tracking # the three packages have cleared customs! Hopefully will get them this week! |

Get practicing! We should start a series in the New Year. I'm at about 40 MX-5 Cup races so far and am finally starting to get a feel for it. What's that... 20 hours? Yep, I'm a slow learner. |

Well, we are bottom feeders. Most times I don't even notice which section a post is in, as I view the forum through http://www.armsinc.ca/phpbb2/search.php ... d=newposts |

My system won't cut it..... it'll load sometimes and not others. When it doesn't load I have to kill the rendered.ini file and reconfigure it, and even then sometimes it doesn't work. Right now I'm chasing down a newer video card to see if that helps. |
