Hi Guys

Unfortunately, it looks like I will miss most of the races of this series. I was really looking forward to it, as I think the 430 would provide another good, close series.

Enjoy!

Not really.... it's a real pain to drive... slides around everywhere.

If you put a foot wrong you'll find yourself +10 seconds behind the guy that was 0.2 seconds in front of you by the time you recover.

Here are the results from tonight... a night that I'd rather forget. :x

1 turbined 81
2 vincentq4 68
3 stevedp 67
4 S_AND_S 61
5 MerlinRPM 52
6 Mr_4G63T 46
7 trvbck 14

Yea I know I didn't finish 3rd at Daytona..... first night since we started GT5 that I didn't make the podium.

You know if I was a B-Spec driver I'd probably be retired....

EDIT:
I have this as the finishing order for Daytona:

1-turbined
2-vincentq4
3-S_AND_S
4-MerlinRPM
5-stevedp
6-Mr_4G63T

FYI

The rumor is the group "Anonymous" has been targeting Sony's servers with DoS attacks for the past 48hrs.

http://www.crunchgear.com/2011/04/04/an ... 3-hacking/

The Playstation Network is very unstable at this point and if things do not improve we may need to postpone our race for tomorrow night.

We'll see how things are at 7:30pm tomorrow.

Also as a result of the network issues the B-Spec Grinder we just setup will not work. So no remote B-Spec money until further notice.

PD just released the 1.09 patch for GT5.
It's 49mb so please give yourself time to download and install it tonight before 8pm.

As of right now it looks like everything is back online and running smooth.

Results after night 2:

1 MerlinRPM 137
2 stevedp 122
3 S_AND_S 121
4 turbined 81
5 AMomcilo 77
6 vincentq4 68

During the Nürburgring GP/F race last night, Harrod and I both stopped for fresh tires on lap 7. This worked out well for me, but Alek was able to conserve his tires and over took Harrod during the pit stop. Harrod was closing in on him at the end, but it wasn't enough to stop Alek from 2nd place on the podium.

Steve pulled out an early 4-5 second lead in the first few laps of Laguna Seca. Over the next 5-6 laps I was able to reel him in and then capitalize on his small mistake at turn 6 (up hill left hander) to take the lead and the win.

In case people haven't noticed, every evening in this series includes one Italian track. Last night it was Rome, and after a 5-6 lap battle with Steve, he was able to pull away from me for a clean victory.

The competition was great last night but it was our lowest attendance yet. Only 4 competitors. :(
I'm hoping it's because of a combo of events and not that people are losing interest.

I know that Varga's router blew up.
Paul makes it when he can.
Jay, Trevor G. and McIntyre are away/unavailable.
Ming's busy with SpeedSport (Cya Saturday Ming!)

However Joel, Alex A., John K. and Craig M. seem to have just dropped off the face of the planet.... haven't seen them online in ages. Hope everything is alright and they rejoin us soon.

... and I'm not sure what happened to Taylor either. :?

Oh btw, the prize car for this series will be a stock '76 Ferrari 512BB

It was pretty fun last night. I am consitantly unconsistant. Push too hard, late braking = run off or spin.

The new setup is really good.

Out of town on Sunday, bug out for work at 0-dark-stupid thursday morning meant that the first two nights weren't going to happen. I'm planning on trying the next series though.

I'm at SpeedSport on Saturday (that's the plan at least).

But I'm might be game for something tonight.

Nice prize car! That's worth a few pennies.

I've been away for work, but will definitely be joining in on the next series.

I'd be game for some action tonite. What time are ya's thinking. I've got a little garage work but after that I'd be good. Also what headsets are you guys using? I just have an in ear cheapo and it sucks. I can't make out a thing you guys say when I have it on. When I'm not using it and getting voice through my stereo, it is crystal clear. Are you guys using full headsets with boom mics?

As far as the setup of these cars goes. I've tried applying real world setup techniques to these cars in all the series so far and have yet to find anything that works well. I end up going so extreme in either direction that I screw it up even worse. My latest strategy has been to leave the suspension settings basically bone stock with very minor tweaks. I believe the 430, which is pretty hooked up for me, has only minor camber changes to the front. The rest is default. My hopeful LeMans Series car, which I've been driving the sh!t out of lately is completely default and is a blast to drive.

I was using the Sony Bluetooth Headset as Jason has. It works great! But I needed a full headset to keep the noise down during late-night racing, so I got a Logitech F540 and love it.

I just have a mild tweek of the stock setup too, I like it, I like the fact the car slides around a lot.
I don't usually mess too much with my setup, which is to my downfall in cars that need a lot of work, or when Varga is off work and playing for 18 hours a day trying everything!
I also try real world stuff in the game and it never works, I end up lost and slow, so I just leave it alone for the most part.

The Prancing Pony Championship wrapped up last Thursday with the following results:

1 MerlinRPM 254
2 vincentq4 238
3 S_AND_S 230
4 stevedp 212
5 AMomcilo 150
6 turbined 81
7 Mr_4G63T 46
8 Viich 37
9 trvbck 14

I had a comfortable lead in 1st (and even was dropped during the last race at Monza). However it was a tight battle between Varga, Steve and Harrod.

Thanks to everyone who came out!
