Yes, for Time Trials you need not stay the whole session length to receive credit. You just need to complete the required number of consecutive "clean" laps. If you don't see an average time displayed in the F1 black box, then you're not done.

When I'm trying a new car or track I've never driven before, I'll usually:

    1. Start with a dozen laps in TEST. If it's a track I've never driven, I'll turn on the driving line, follow it, and look for brake markers near the indicated braking zones. Then I'll turn it off and try a few laps without it.

    2. Next I'll jump into a public PRACTICE session. I'll do laps until I can run fairly consistent lap times without offs / spins. Then I'll study (replay) the fastest driver in the session, and try to duplicate his line / breaking & shifting points.

    3. Once my lap times have leveled off and I'm happy with my pace, I'll jump into TIME TRIAL / QUALIFY / RACE sessions.

Sweet!

The tough part is keeping it. It's so easy to loose SR once you have an A license because of the increased Corner Per Incident (CPI) allowance. I'm currently 6 SR points from getting my A road license for the forth time. I keep getting demoted back to B.

Yes... That I'm consistently inconsistent!

I plan to keep this one. I'll have to if I wanna complete the full iRacing Grand Prix Series as planned.

It's because I spent many hours trying to tame that Cadillac... The Spec Ford is easy after driving that thing!

I never thought I would see the words "Spec Ford" "easy" "driving" in the same sentence.

Gotta remember this guy drives rear-engine Porsches in anger. Everything else is easy in comparison.

I quite like the Caddy, closest thing to what I am used to in real life.

I am a BIG fan of the late model on road courses, its great fun and very easy to drive.

I too have been to A licence and dropped to B, very hard to stay there, one bad race can be pretty hard on the SR.

Unfortunately they're going to leave you in suspense until next Monday. Its the first day after the completion of week 13 that they finally dish out the promotions.

Season 4 officially starts tonight @ 9pm AST! :2jump:

Unfortunately we don't a new build yet, and it's not expected until Thursday. Hurricane Sandy isn't helping either. :(

I have the Lotus 49 and Oran Park on pre-order. Looking forward to testing them out.

This season I'm planning to focus most of my energy on the Star Mazda Championship again, and try to get a top three in the divisional championship, likely Div 3 or Div 2 (will find out tonight).

I also plan to casually run in the iRacing Grand Prix Series, to gain some experience in the F1 car and maximize my participation credits.

And of course there's the Caddy in our ARMS League, as well as the Radical & Star Mazda in the Regulars League. Phew! I'm tired already. ;)

What are YOU planning to run this season?

I'm thinking of spending most of my time with the Prototype-GT race for my Class B license. I'll run for a bit to see how the fixed set-up works for me and then decide from there. Still not sure if I want to run the ARX or the Corvette because of just how many people hop in to the ARX. Decisions to be made

Besides that I only really plan to run the Caddy until I can see how I like the Lotus 49, and then maybe I'll consider running that series as well.

Fun times ahead!

Just confirmed... Your top 25% of finishes will count towards championship points instead of top 50%. So that means you can run 4 races per week (in each series) before your championship points get averaged.

Dirty Windshields

- Windshields will now get dirty as you drive. Driving behind other cars will make the windshield get dirtier faster. Driving through smoke, dust, clouds of oil from blown motors will make the windshield get really dirty really fast. We have added this effect to all cars with full windshields.

I like this one

and Rockingham FTW!!!

Yes, they're aware and are working on it.

Before getting kicked out I did notice a few things that I didn't read about in the build...

A toggle for gear selection display on the Fanatec wheel
A speed limiter for the pits (didn't seem to work though...)
The options menu settings has a ghost replay of what you just did under it when you bring it up after a session

Here's hoping it's cured before tomorrow night

Stacy probably means the new automatic pit speed limiter driver aid. I turned the aid on last night, but I'm so accustomed to switching it on / off manually, I never got to test it. lol

You mean it was always there

Do you know how many "Stop and Go's" I could've avoided this last season  (...well only one actually )

Stacy, the pit lane speed limiter is only in a few cars which means it is not in them all...like the MX-5. The Caddy always did have the ability to turn one on and off!

I only figured it out once I was running the Star Mazda Series, and it was only because I was trying to figure out what settings I could adjust in the the car to deal with dropping fuel loads!
