Well the year has come to a close amid rumors and speculation of what the spec miata class will look like next year. Although a fun year the car count was definitely down from the previous year and i cant see it getting any better going forward with such uncertainty. I think the directors owe the people who spent money fielding cars and equipment to support there series a explanation of what the series is doing going forward. I understand there are good and bad times as a director and i appreciate the job you have done. As a owner trying to field 2 cars for next year it is hard to make plans. I think it is only fair for the SMCDA to let it supporters know what its future plans are for our class.
Thank You
Gerald Caseley SR.

As a car owner and member of SMCDA I would also like some communication with regard to plans for the future of the SM Championship Series. I await the official response...

Blu and I have spent countless hours, days and weeks promoting the Spec Miata Series for the past 5-years as a non-profit program with all proceeds going back to the Spec Miata racers. We started-it, built-it with a growth of 30 % per year until 2014.

There has been a very large negative halo surrounding the Toyo Tires Spec Miata series this year with most of it directed to the Spec Miata series itself and not the sanctioning body, which isn’t fair considering everything we do was to promote and build the series. We have tried to turn this around and promote our series with a smile and consistency, to no avail.

The sanctioning body asked for our commitment in the future, in which we were very clear about and willingly to promote the series. However it is also very clear that ARMS was/is planning another direction for the SM Series for 2016. So, based on ARMS' detailed specifications for going forward with the spec series, we (SMCDA) will not be submitting a proposal.

On behalf of Blu Vandaalen and myself, I would like to extend our gratitude to our sponsors and competitors for the past 5 years.

Thank You!

Yours in motorsport,
Blu Vandaalen
Bruce McNutt

Its a sad day for spec miata racers in the maritimes. Well Bruce and Blu thanks for all you have done. If it were not for for spec miata we would never of raced at amp.

Ok I can't be the only one from the SMCDA that is wondering what exactly is in these new specifications from ARMS and what this new direction for the series entails. Is there any reason that these specifications can't be made available? It would at least give us some idea what may be in store for the series next year which would be helpful and possibly reassuring to those of us who are trying to make plans. If you don't want it for public consumption it could be at least posted in the racers private forum, though I expect there are a few potential driver/car owners that would like to know what is in the works as well.

Blu and Bruce, thanks for all your hard work you've put in to the series.

@Ken, the new specs are the same as the old ones, nothing hidden here. The promoters of SM must work with ARMS.

What part of Brian's comment is incorrect?

The specifications that is referred to here is about the ARMS/SM Promoter. Really nothing to do with the Spec Miata class itself. This thread has been taken off line to email conversations.
