I saw that one, they had a build diary on one of the sites I read. Its pretty fresh. A lot of careful care went into making it.

Black 2002 Impreza sedan for $1500 on my way home. No idea of condition other than no visible surface rust on the side facing the road.
I can provide contact info or stop and check it out if anyone is interested.

Too nice for rally cross, but a good price for a low mileage Subaru: http://www.oreganswholesaledirect.com/used-cars/2003-Subaru-Legacy-L-SPECIAL-EDITION-39982/

Someone NEEDS to make this happen. $2600 is stupefying! Logbooked in November 2011, never staged. Throw some paint on it and it would look amazing running the stages in our October rally! We can make transport happen! :)

Not sure, I did just notice in the ad something I missed before, it comes with a HANS device included. That's a $500 bonus right there!

Interesting, you never see BMW awd cars in a rally environment. They are not known for a robust awd design, maybe thats why? Be fun to try, pretty cheap price!

That's what caught my eye. Cheap buy in for someone who wishes to do something different.

That AWD system similar to the older 325ix do you know Paul?

I think the newer system is different than the e30 version, but not sure how.

I know the newer one has a clutch pack that can alter the torque split, but sure how much it would like a rally situation, with a lot of variable wheelspin.

The e30 system uses a transfer case with a viscous coupling that can vary the front/rear power split along with a viscous rear LSD. Not the most reliable system (viscous stuff tends to wear and front driveshaft has issues with spline engagement) but the rear biased AWD is incredibly fun in the winter. My old e30 could get through anything and hold massive drifts all day long. Still regret selling mine.

The e46 system is a lot more rudimentary. The transfer case has a fixed F/R torque split. Basically an open center diff. No rear or front LSD either. It uses stability control to transfer power to certain wheels by braking others. When you turn it off you can still end up with one wheel spinning and the others not moving because of the lack of any limited slip. I haven't driven the e46 system but I can't imagine it working all that well for rallyX.

Clutch pack only got added when the e90 came out. Anything x-drive would probably be a bit better, but I can't imagine you would find many people wanting to rallyX one.

More I look it might be Walkintons' old car. Looks like there are lots of spares, coilovers etc. Little bit of floor work and your in the game.

Definitely a mislabeled Audi 90 - A4s didn't exist until the B5 platform and that is 100% a B4. But if you have a means of towing it, I bet you could show up and wave half that price around in cash and they'd take it. Or maybe even less.

There was a guy who posted a Wagon for sale on the Subaru Buy and Sell Facebook group a few months ago who said he had laid Hardwood down in the hatch, but NO PICTURES. How can you advertise a car with hardwood floors and not post pictures?! :)
