I've noticed that the Topic is "Good Rally cars for sale" not "Cheap Rally cars for sale" so I submit the following:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-Rally-Car-Group-B-1986-Ford-RS200-EVOLUTION-Faster-than-Enzo-1-only-24-made-/290629944975?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item43aae5068f

Nice car...

The only problem with them is that the engines life span was measured in "Hundreds" of miles and they are hellish expensive to rebuild...but oh what fun they are will they lasted.

Thats cheap for that car "IF" the paperwork checks out.

Stacy...you thinking of making one ?

I don't have a clue on what that was even based on (Merkur?) to begin to think about making a fake...

I did talk to Ron M. this weekend about giving my old Saab 900S (one of my most favorite cars) a decent retirement by turning it into a rally car though... I just can't find any notable/flashy themes pertinent to Saab (ie Martini, Momo, Gulf to Porsche ...Basf, M Procar to BMW ...etc) that appeal to me yet

Your RS200 clone should be easy. Just make a mold out of stacks of hundred dollar bills and wrap in carbon fiber. Should work. :P

I also have dreams of a sport quattro.
This is for sale near me.

But I have no time for more projects, thinking of getting rid of my coupe quattro 20V project as it is.

That looks like a very quality build.

I've seen several open class cars in the GTA sit for a bit in that price point, maybe he'll have better luck. Someone spent a lot of time on it, that's for sure.

Very nice Rad support!

What does a $500 944 look like Stacy? Just curious...there's an 87 for sale locally for $4k and I thought that was a decent price.

We'll a $500 944 starts out by being picked up with your boom truck out of a ditch:
Image Image

...and keeping with the "good rally car" theme maybe it will end up looking like this 924GTS when i'm done:

Send me a pm and I'll tell you what to check for ...and yes, checking for a front right wheel helps

Not so much a "good rally car for sale" (at least I don't think it was for sale...) but I couldn't help but to stop yesterday and take a picture of this car for Burl, Ian and Gord:

Image

I wonder if it has a Dixie horn?

Wow. A coupe Q 90, painted after General Lee himself.

Somewhere a german stylist is crying over his beer and sausage.

Where is this beast Stacy? Cage?

Thanks for the offer Stacy - though I'm not actually looking for another car. There are all kinds of rules in this house about cars, one of which is that anything more than about 5 years old is automatically given "management's" evil eye ;) Miata excepted because it's the summer only fun car and just works (knock on wood).

Looking forward to seeing what you do with your new 944!

It runs at Redneck Raceway in Norton http://redneckraceway.webs.com/

Redneck racing actually has a web site showing everything they do (Blindfold racing, miniscual crowd protection, etc...) for a lawyer to just browse away on? 8O

If anybody wants to discuss this event please feel free to start a new thread (in a closed section) because IMHO we as ARMS do not want to have any links to what goes on there!

Anyway I been after a friends UR for years (long story) but he deflected my yearly inquiry to this one that is for sale instead. This car would probably go under the "if you have to ask how much, you can't afford it" category...

Wouldn't this make the ultimate Targa NFLD car (if they still do the performance index?) as it would meet the requirements for the Classic pax factor. The very first 1980 UR Audi Quattro coupe rally car driven by both Hannu Mikkola and Michele Mouton 8O

I have a 1985 Volvo 740 Turbo that came from Alberta and is in excellent condition underneath, no rust! The engine was overheated, I installed a new head gasket but it has low compression on #2 cyl. Has oil pressure and pulls good. Planned to rally it myself but too many projects already. Asking $750.00. I have a lead on another motor for cheap also.
