Nice car...

The only problem with them is that the engines life span was measured in "Hundreds" of miles and they are hellish expensive to rebuild...but oh what fun they are will they lasted.

Thats cheap for that car "IF" the paperwork checks out.

I did talk to Ron M. this weekend about giving my old Saab 900S (one of my most favorite cars) a decent retirement by turning it into a rally car though... I just can't find any notable/flashy themes pertinent to Saab (ie Martini, Momo, Gulf to Porsche ...Basf, M Procar to BMW ...etc) that appeal to me yet

That looks like a very quality build.

I've seen several open class cars in the GTA sit for a bit in that price point, maybe he'll have better luck. Someone spent a lot of time on it, that's for sure.

Thanks for the offer Stacy - though I'm not actually looking for another car. There are all kinds of rules in this house about cars, one of which is that anything more than about 5 years old is automatically given "management's" evil eye Miata excepted because it's the summer only fun car and just works (knock on wood).

Looking forward to seeing what you do with your new 944!

I've got video of an AMC Eagle on 2 wheels at a 45deg angle from the year I was at the Baie des Chaleurs rally as crew chief for J.Sears YD Datsun team. (I still remember Joe coming into the service area all covered in mud and I got two people on the team to start washing the windows off so that he could see again and he starts yelling at me "No! No! Get them to do the sponsors logos first! )




Anyway I been after a friends UR for years (long story) but he deflected my yearly inquiry to this one that is for sale instead. This car would probably go under the "if you have to ask how much, you can't afford it" category...

Wouldn't this make the ultimate Targa NFLD car (if they still do the performance index?) as it would meet the requirements for the Classic pax factor. The very first 1980 UR Audi Quattro coupe rally car driven by both Hannu Mikkola and Michele Mouton

Oh yes.... too bad its automatic.

I have a 1985 Volvo 740 Turbo that came from Alberta and is in excellent condition underneath, no rust! The engine was overheated, I installed a new head gasket but it has low compression on #2 cyl. Has oil pressure and pulls good. Planned to rally it myself but too many projects already. Asking $750.00. I have a lead on another motor for cheap also.
