Life is too short to get places reliably and safely in a boring car (mazda 323, yaris, etc..). The most fun i've had in a winter car was a G35 with a failed AWD system, so this is pretty much a match for that. But lets be honest, I wouldn't fit in the non-convertible model.

^^ Ahh in my youth I was naive enough to believe that... then I bought a Mercedes C230.......

As for the open diff, it's because it's the base model, all other 350Z had some variation of a VLSD.

IMHO, they are trash cars, my buddy owned one for a few years and hardly drove it because it continually fell apart. Fun car, but with broken door locks, non functioning windows, fried headlight wiring, and non-functioning climate control, it wasn't the most practical, plus the police attention is absurd! It was kind of quick in a straight line, but would spin out with any amount of throttle around a corner, so not exactly ideal for us slalom enthusiasts.

Although for only $4k... you would have enough left over to build a semi respectable performance car.....

A properly setup 350z would be a awesome slalom car. You dont need functioning windows or door locks for that. Lol.

Just did a 1000+km TSD Rally for 'Run the Rock' last weekend, too!

It looks nothing like it did when you sold it, though. :)

Yep. It is no longer a SM car. It looks like they are having lots of fun with it. I hope she survives Targa. Young fellas can't heed the warnings though....a certain beautiful white Impreza now needs some major bodywork. :(

Would someone buy this $2500 car so that I won't

5spd 928's are rare (my '80 is an auto) and the temptation to swap the tranny ...and maybe even a better working engine with good valve seals, into mine is appealing.
But alas I'm too busy and this car looks too nice to part out:

This cheaper S2000 popped up this morning. Probably not the cleanest example, but kilometers are low, and you'll be hard-pressed to find anything around the $10k range. If it hasn't been winter-driven and if the bodywork is professionally done it'll be a good buy. I'll even help you out with some good looking OEM wheels :D

i'd be weary of that S2000, current owner is a little shady.
rebuilt title but the car was painted because the previous owner was "fussy"..
also, current owner only paid 10k for vehicle, has had several for sale ads up on facebook, was asking 15K for it.

That's unfortunate. I hoped it wasn't the case. There's a white s2000 local to Halifax that's the same story. It used to be baby blue, and was listed for 7000 on kijiji. Now it's 11,800 and apparently very poorly painted white (but still with the lovely blue interior). It's a shame there's so few good ones for sale, especially at a reasonable cost. You're better off buying a 2 year old FRS for $20K than a 15 year old S2000 for $17K...

I just looked up the ad for that one...

Still can't believe they made those in 4 door. (I also can't believe I only found out they made them in four door like 6 months ago)

Hmmm...looks like the same car I saw stuck in the ice at the port. That was March 25th.
Wonder what the deal is with this car...and why the data plate has been removed?

I don't even care that the air intake looks stupid and that it's probably slower than Dave and Scott's around an auto-X course, I want this. 8O
